  • Multi-level-marketing is Based on the Concept of Networking

Network Marketing is NOT the same as pyramid selling. It is firmly established in many countries as a respected means of achieving an income. In the UK, Network Marketing is regulated by The Direct Selling Association (www.dsa.org.uk). The DSA’s Code of Practice was endorsed by the Director of Fair Trading in 1987 and is administered by an independent Code Administrator. The DSA aims to ‘protect, serve and promote the effectiveness of member companies and the independent direct sellers marketing their products and assure the highest level of business ethics and service to customers’.

Any company can choose to use Multi-Level-Marketing to reach its customer base and any product or service can be sold this way. Network Marketing started in the USA and some of the longest-standing companies using this method include Amway, Ann Summers and Kleeneze. A more recent entrant is the award-winning Dorling Kindersley Family Learning closed down by new owners Pearson. Cabuchon is an example of a successful Network Marketing which subsequently failed. As with any business, there are no guarantees of success and rational preliminary research is essential.

Not all DSA members use Network Marketing to expand their distributor base. Some are purely party plan, such as Tupperware, and others are purely person to person, such as Avon or Herbalife; others use a mix of all of these to sell their products or service.

Network Marketing is based on the concept of ‘networking’. We all have a circle of people we know through the circumstances of our daily lives and each of these people will have their own circle of acquaintances, colleagues, family and friends. Network Marketing involves tapping into these networks not only to sell product but also to offer the business opportunity to potential new distributors who then start the process of developing their own networks for selling and recruiting.

As the networks widen, so the individual leader benefits not only from their own sales but also a percentage of the sales from their network. As more people join the organization, so residual income increases.

So, what is MLM (multi-level marketing)? This is network marketing which allows its distributors not only to network outwards in order to sell the product but also to benefit from their downline’s downline, either to a limited depth or ad infinitum. However, the two terms tend to be used easily indiscriminately.

As with any other home-based business, distributors need to work hard and have courage and determination. Finding a good sponsor is just as important as finding an interesting product and a good compensation plan which offers flexibility and just reward for effort. Contrary to expectation, the newcomer has the same potential for success as the long-term sponsor provided that the necessary research and skills training takes place. It is not necessary to be ‘in at the beginning’ and in some cases it may prove more difficult and risky to join at the beginning than to join a plan which has reached a more mature phase. Network Marketing is particularly suited to married women with family commitments as it offers them an opportunity to start a business on a part time basis with very little capital. The opportunity now exists for enterprising women to use their talents and the skills gained from motherhood to build businesses based both on selling and on finding and supporting the efforts of others.

Network marketing businesses close down every year (Bookbiz went into receivership earlier this year) – but still more product-based businesses are turning to network marketing as a means of getting their products out to their customers and cutting out the wholesalers and retailers. We are also finding lots of US companies crossing the Atlantic and bringing their products and greater razamatazz with them. It’s a high risk business but the rewards can be substantial. A lot will depend on you, but a lot will also depend on the business acumen, personalities and perhaps sheer luck of the people you’re signing up to do business with.

Be warned! As you attend the training courses provided by the parent company, you will probably find that the ‘product’ becomes a way of life – so choose carefully!

A Basic Guide To Your Own Home Based Multi-Level Marketing Business MLM Network

Your Own Home Based Multi-level marketing (MLM) is also referred to as network marketing. Your Own Home Based MLM is essentially a type of business model that combines direct marketing with franchising. The term Your Own Home Based model describes a vast range of informal and formal models that are used by companies to represent various aspects of Your Own Home Based Business, such as operational processes, organizational structures, and financial forecasts. Your Own Home Based MLM business functions by enrolling unsalaried salespeople to sell products and meanwhile earn additional sales commissions based on the sales of people enrolled into Their Own Home Based Downline, an organization of people that includes direct recruits, recruits’ recruits and so on. This arrangement is similar to franchises where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager. There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person’s sales. Your New Own Home Based MLM members may be required to pay for their own training and marketing materials, or to buy a significant amount of inventory to start Their Own Home Based Career.

The compensation plans vary from One Home Based MLM Business to the other, but there are basic plans in place. The Home Based Unilevel or Stairstep Breakaway Business Plans are the oldest and most popular in The Home Based MLM Business. These plans features two types of distributors either managers or non-managers. The pay method of these plans includes Home Based Baseshop overrides where there are overrides of managers from Their Own Home Based Subordinate non-managers. This method is the same as any other type of Home Based Sales Organization. Generational overrides are overrides of managers from The Home Based Baseshop of managers who were previously Their Own Home Based Subordinate. Most plans compensate at least three generations of Such Home Based Managers. Executive bonuses are commissions For Home Based Managers who exceed a Posted Home Based Sales quota. For example, 2% of The Total Home Based Company sales revenue may go to a bonus pool that is shared monthly to Home Based Managers who exceed $10,000 in that month. Commissions are based on the aspect of cycles, where a Home Based Distributor is paid a fixed amount whenever both legs achieve a certain number of Home Based Sales Units Each. Commissions are paid incrementally when The Home Based Sales volume in each leg matches.

In recent years, the MLM business has developed an image problem due to its resemblance to the illegal pyramid or other similar schemes. MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries around the world. Many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses. In the legitimate MLM companies, commissions are earned only on sales of the company’s products and/or services. No money may be earned from recruiting alone through sign-up fees, though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arragements.

A commonly adopted test of legality is that Your Own Home Based MLMs Business follows the so-called 70% rule which prevents Your Own Home Based Business Members “inventory loading” in order to qualify for additional bonuses. The Home Based Business 70% Rule requires participants to sell 70% of previously purchased inventory before procuring New Home Based Business Orders. There are however variations in interpretations of this rule. Some attorneys insist that Your Own Home Based Business 70% of purchased inventory should be sold to people who are not participants in Your Own Home Based Business, while many Home Based Business MLM companies allow for self-consumption to be a significant part of the sales of a participant. The Federal Trade Commission offers advice for Potential Home Based Business MLM Members to help them identify Those Home Based Activities that could be scams.

  • Home Based Business Ideas: The Truth About Multi-Level Marketing

Multi-level marketing is a business model that relies on each member in the organization to be successful. In MLM, each person builds his or her own sales team to sell a product or service. Unlike traditional affiliate marketing, where you are paid a commission based on only your own sales, multi-level marketing organizations will pay you a commission for your own sales, plus a percentage of the commissions of each member who joins the organization under you.

Many people hear multi-level marketing and immediately think pyramid scheme. While pyramid schemes and MLM both pay members for the sales of members beneath them in the organization, there’s where the similarities end. In true MLMs, you are not paid primarily for recruiting other members, you are paid for the sales of an actual product, not the MLM program, and you share in your team’s revenue production.

A good way to tell a genuine MLM opportunity from a pyramid scheme is to determine if there is an actual product that has value outside of the organization. What I mean by this is does the product have any intrinsic value independent of the fact that an MLM organization is selling it, or is it used primarily as a recruitment tool to bring other people on board? If the product has little or no real-world value other than to serve as a recruitment vehicle, then the organization is likely a pyramid or matrix type scheme. If the product does have value, then you are dealing with a reputable organization.

The secret to being successful in MLM is to build a strong team of motivated individuals who will go on to build a strong team beneath them. This means that you will have to dedicate some time to motivating your team and providing them with the tools they need to succeed, most of which should be provided by the MLM company. As your team grows, you may want to invest in other tools that help you and your team make more sales, apart from what is given to you by the MLM company.

Once you have a solid team under you, you should begin to reap the benefits of your hard work. Of course, you will always have to motivate, and building that team might take some time, but once it’s there, you will be able to pull in a good amount of money simply on the residuals of your team’s efforts.

Do You Have A Way Out?I

was speaking with a friend of mind just the other day that is from Detroit about the auto industry and how it will affect that city. There is a since of concern, urgency and desperation on the faces of people nowadays to find other sources of income to gain that financial security. The buzz has been home businesses that have very low risk and very low financial commitment like MLM, Network Marketing, or Direct Sales. Robert Kiyosaki, a self made millionaire and author of best selling book Rich Dad, Poor Dad says,  “Network Marketing gives people an opportunity, with very low risk and very low financial commitment, to build their own income generating asset and acquire great wealth”.
